Regular Drain Maintenance & Cleaning
It's not shocking that KVA spends most of our time cleaning drains and pipes... that's like saying that a chef spends a lot of time cooking food! What may surprise some customers is how many different ways there are to clear out a clog.
First of all, we offer basic services like chemical treatments, plumber's snakes, and hydrojetting to remove pesky buildups in pipes. We can also send in cameras to take video feed and assess the damages, should the problem prove more serious. And don't think we just plunge backed up toilets; we also remove clumps of hair from showers, grease and oil from restaurant grease traps, and all of the various items that infants flush down the bowl. Sometimes, the problem is completely independent of humans, like roots that have punctured and out door pipe.
KVA is well-trained at undoing the effects of a clogged drain and can get it super cleaned in order to prevent future backups. Call us to have a problem fixed or to ask more about our preventative services.
Plumbing Tips for Becoming More Energy-Efficient
- Showerheads are a great fixture to replace for everybody who is attempting to save energy or reduce water consumption. The modern ones are really cool, and much less wasteful.
- Are you aware of how many gallons of water get wasted for every faucet with a small leak of 1 drip per second? 240 per month! So fix ANY leaks immediately, no matter how small they seem.
- Your toilet uses a huge percentage of your total household water, as much as 40 Percent! Updating it to a newer unit or at least ensuring the seals and flushing mechanism are water-tight can be a big water bill saver.
- It's almost never a good idea to set your hot water heater any greater than 120 degrees. Check exactly where your water is set and change it as necessary.
A valve that incorporates a steel or plastic ball to block water flow and create a seal is called a “ball check valve.” This makes many of our customers chuckle.
